Northern Lights Seen Over Arkansas
Rogers Aurora Oct1 0,2024
The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) made an appearance to much of the United States last night. I saw reports in Florida, Texas and even The Bahamas. I had seen northern lights in Alaska before an it is a cool experience but my expectations were pretty low if it was worth photographing, especially inside areas of light pollution were I live. However, it was bright enough at least for a few minutes to overcome some of the light pollution. This was shortly after 9pm last night from my backyard in Rogers, Arkansas. Thankfully, there is a field with no development to the north of my backyard so I was able to even see with the naked eye for a few minutes.

Seeing the Northern Lights over Arkansas must have felt like a once-in-a-lifetime thing for everyone who saw it, honestly. Nature always has a way to surprise us, but in the best kind of ways. I was really amazed by the lovely colors that were lighting up the night sky; it looked almost unreal for a bit. Moments like this make you want to slow down and enjoy everything more, even when you’re still juggling work and studies. And sometimes I catch myself thinking about pay someone to do my online class for me just so I can squeeze in a little extra free time for experiences like this.
